KUALA TERENGGANU, Feb 1 (Bernama) - Lembaga Pertubuhan Peladang (LPP) will ensure that farmers and breeders get a reasonable return through the Pusat Pengumpulan Hasil Pertanian (PHP) built throughout the country. Its director Datuk Mohd Salim Taha said PHP provided marketing for agricultural produce guaranteed by its market price as compared to supply to other parties. "Currently, LPP has built 200 PHP nationwide including 10 in Terengganu. "As much as 90 percent of the center is already operational while the rest is under construction," he told reporters after the annual gathering of Terengganu LPP here today, attended by state LPP director Abd Mubin Abdul Raza. Through PHP's 40,000 farmers, breeders and fishermen will be involved in the supply of agricultural produce at every collection center created and can produce 62,400 tonnes of agricultural produce a year with a sales value of up to RM250 million. --BERNAMA |
